A Thrilling Update for Modern Consoles
On October 8, 2K Games surprised the community with a free update for Mafia III on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This release delivers smooth 60 FPS gameplay while improving overall performance.
Why 60 FPS?
The higher frame rate makes the experience more immersive, especially during intense action scenes and high‑speed chases that define Mafia III. Players now enjoy unprecedented fluidity on the latest console generation.
Technical Improvements in Detail
Beyond the FPS boost, the update fixes several critical bugs: crashes during group combat, high‑resolution texture issues, and AI system instability. Developers also optimized memory usage to reduce load times.
Graphics Optimization
The visuals benefit from subtle enhancements that improve shadow quality, reflections, and character rendering. New Bordeaux’s streets look more realistic while retaining the original artistic style.
